Science in the Lab: Biotech Genetics
Grade: Entering Grades 9-10-11-12
Location: UC Berkeley campus
Students will explore the various processes related to gene editing and the hot field of biotechnology, including a new technology called CRISPR. These innovations in biotechnology seek to solve many of the world’s current challenges. Students will learn the science behind gene editing, use CRISPR to edit bacterial genes, and explore ethical questions related to gene editing. This program takes place Mon.–Fri., 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., at The Lawrence.
