Overview
Surviving Life on the Red Planet
Entering Grades 5-6 $1,295.00
What essentials would you bring on a trip to Mars? In this program, you will “take off” into cutting-edge science and plan for the first human trip to the “red planet.” Together we will investigate the prospect of sustaining life on the martian surface, separating science from science fiction. During the program you will design and test systems for providing water, oxygen, and warmth, and will even build a model remote-controlled rover to collect samples from the surface. You will gain a deeper understanding of Mars, our most habitable neighbor; learn how we can identify potentially habitable planets; and explore the engineering design process. This program includes visits to science center exhibits.
