Overview

‘ottoytak Lunch Tasting

Cafe Ohlone’s current iteration– ‘ottoytak, or The Place of Repair–is located on the patio adjacent to the Hearst Museum of Anthropology on the UC Berkeley campus.

The Lawrence Hall of Science is the administrative home of UC Berkeley’s 'ottoy Initiative, which aims to foster understanding of and respect for Ohlone people and culture and to repair and improve the University’s relationship with the Ohlone community. ‘ottoytak and the ‘ottoy dining experience, developed by the Cafe Ohlone team, offers seasonal Ohlone food and traditional teas paired with an honest narrative of the experiences of the East Bay Ohlone people.

At the 'ottoytak Lunch Tasting full plates of intentional, seasonal Ohlone foods and teas are contextualized with details about the intersection between Ohlone food and culture. Please note: Parties of fewer than 4 people may be seated at communal tables.

Plates of fresh green salad and berries
